March has been quite a good month, I must say, in terms of stories sold and appeared in press. Here’s a quick roundup:
- I sold a story to Aurealis, one of my dream markets. I’ve been reading this magazine since I lived in East Asia in the 2000s and I love the stories they publish. After many rejections over the years, they sent me an acceptance letter. Squeee!
- I managed to crack another market on my target list, The Grievous Angel, in what makes my second pro-sale of the year. It was, to be true, not a story but a haiga (mix of haiku+image). I can’t wait to see it up.
- I made other two original sales, one to The Martian Wave 2018 (they’ve published one of my stories in last year edition) and one to Unfading Dream.
- A first for me was to be included in a Best of. “Ligeia is Waiting” has been selected to appear in Best Vegan Science Fiction & Fantasy 2017.
- I signed the contract for a reprint of one short fantasy story first sold in 2015. It will appear in Fantasy for the Throne, in what already looks like a great collection.
- Last but not the least, Page&Spine bought three more poems, all of them dealing with horror of some kind.
A few things appeared in press:
- One of my flash was published on New Myths (read it here).
- Monstrosities, Third Flatiron Anthology (where I have another flash), is now available for sale on Amazon.
- Another horror-themed poem appeared on Poetry Quarterly
I certainly do hope the rest of the year keeps this pace!
